Kristi's Weight Loss Surgery Page
Welcome to my page about Weight Loss Surgery.
I am just beginning this long journey, and I hope that you will find my page helpful, informative and also inspiring.
I have read many pages like this one and I never get tired of watching the people go from morbidly obese people to thinner healthier people right before my eyes. It is my hope that this will happen to me as well!
I read a home page today and they were asking - who invented the term "morbidly obese"? It does seem rather ugly doesn't it? But unfortunately it is what they call people who are over 100 pounds more than their ideal body weight. For someone my height, the "ideal" body weight is between 108 and 138.
Right now I weigh in at 284 pounds. It's humiliating, embarrassing, hard to live with, hard to move with, and just plain ruining my life...which is why I decided to turn to weight loss surgery as an option for a healthier future.
I have been heavy for most of my 32 years, only recently hitting my top weight.
I have added many photos of myself at my current weight, and will add many more as I progress through the surgery and into the new "thinner, healthier" me. There is a saying among people who have had the weight loss surgery. They call themselves "losers" and I think that is so appropriate. It's about time we put some positivity behind the negative term!
Please feel free to check out my pictures, read my journal...and leave any comments you would like to leave. I have laid my soul at your feet in the hopes that my journey will somehow help other people. Being overweight is a terrible disease, and one that is overlooked by American society today.
With love,
Kristi
Here is a virtual image of me I created at www.virtualimage.com. The one on the left is me now...eeek! And the one on the right is me at 160 pounds, which is not my ideal weight, but it would be good to weigh that much!
